AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 33-24 (a) THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 33-24 (a) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 33-24. Final subdivision plat. <br /> <br /> (a) The final subdivision plat shall be prepared by a <br />professional engineer or land surveyor licensed by the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia. It shall be a clearly and legibly <br />drawn reproducible tracing in black ink at a scale of one <br />hundred (100) feet to the inch unless a different scale is <br />approved by the planning director. The preparation of final <br />subdivision plats must be in accordance with the standards for <br />plats as published by the Virginia State Library Board and <br />applicable state regulations. For subdivisions within the City <br />the size of the sheet shall be between eight and one-half <br />(8-1/2) by eleven (11) and eighteen (18) by twenty-four (24) <br />inches. Lettering shall be no less that 1/10 inch or 2.54 mm. <br />in height. Lettering and line weight shall be no less than <br />.013 inches or .3302 mm. Lettering and line spacing for <br />controlled pencil drawings shall be no less than .050 inches <br />and for ink drawings no less than .040 inches. If more than <br />one (1) sheet is necessary, they shall all be numbered of the <br />same size, and match points shall be clearly indicated. <br />Nothing in this section shall be construed to relieve the <br />subdivider of the requirements in ~33-22 of this chapter. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held June 9, 1987. <br /> <br />T~ste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
