regulation; provided, however that if such penalty <br />is paid within one hour after the notice is <br />attached to such vehicle, then the amount of the <br />penalty shall be two dollars ($2.00) instead of <br />three dollars ($3.00). If the owner of such <br />vehicle fails to make such payment within <br />seventy-two (72) hours of the time when such notice <br />was attached to such vehicle, then an additional <br />notice shall be given such owner, and an additional <br />penalty of two dollars ($2.00) shall be charged for <br />the additional notice. The failure of such owner <br />to pay the penalty for the violation and the two <br />dollars ($2.00) for the additional notice within <br />eight (8) days from the date of violation shall <br />render such owner subject to the penalty provided <br />in Section 23-298. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />23-297. <br /> <br />Removal, storage of vehicles unlawfully <br />parked on parking lots and garages of <br />Portsmouth Parking Authority. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />The Portsmouth Parking Authority may cause any <br />motor or other vehicle occupying, without its <br />permission or in violation of this division or any <br />regulation of the Portsmouth Parking Authority, any <br />parking lot or garage owned, operated, leased or <br />controlled by the Portsmouth Parking Authority to <br />be removed by the Portsmouth Pclice Department, and <br />to be placed in such storage facility as may be <br />designated by the city manager. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Prior to the removal of any vehicle, the Portsmouth <br />Parking Authority shall notify the police <br />dispatcher of such removal and shall provide the <br />police dispatcher with the license number and state <br />of issuance of the license and, if known, the <br />vehicle identification number and the make, model <br />and model year of the vehicle to be towed. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />In the event of such removal and storage, the owner <br />of the vehicle involved shall be chargeable with <br />and such vehicle may be held for a reasonable <br />charge for its removal and storage. <br /> <br />Section 23-298. Penalty. <br /> <br /> Except as otherwise provided, any person convicted of <br />violating or permitting, suffering, or allowing anyone to <br />violate any of the provisions of this division shall be <br />punished by a fine of not less than five dollars and not more <br />than fifty dollars ($50.00). <br /> <br /> 4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of <br />its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
