34 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION OF <br />FIFTH STREET BETWEEN HARRISON STREET AND HENRY STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter-described portion of Fifth Street, and it <br />appearing that Notice of Application and Request for <br />Appointment of Viewers has been duly advertised as required by <br />law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Waldo Davis, <br />William Choate, James H. Griffin and James L. Linehan be <br />appointed viewers and that George N. Powers, Sr., and Matthew <br />L. Peanort be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of <br />the preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to <br />view the hereinafter described portions of such streets and to <br />report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion <br />any, and if any what, inconvenience would result In vacating <br />and closing the following: <br /> <br />Fifth Street <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, being more particularly described as <br />that portion of Fifth Street bounded on the <br />north by the southern side of Harrison Street <br />and bounded on the south by the northern side <br />of Henry Street. It is not the intent however <br />to close any portion of Randolph Street within <br />its intersection of Fifth Street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held April 14, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
