18 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION <br />ALLEY ON THE <br /> <br />APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF AN <br />WEST SIDE OF DOUGLAS AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Thomas A. Edwards has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described <br />portion of a certain 12' alley on the western side of Douglas <br />Avenue, and it appearing that Notice of Application and <br />Request for the Appointm~ent of Viewers has been duly <br />advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Charles R. <br />Hudgins, Robert Reed, Harrison Miller and Moses Gibson be <br />appointed viewers and that Emmerson Smith and James Moss be <br />appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding <br />viewers fails to participate, the said viewers to view the <br />hereinafter-described portion of such alley and to report to <br />this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if <br />any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing <br />the following: <br /> <br />12' Alley West Side of Douglas Avenue <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point at the southwest <br />corner of Lot ~189, Plat of Port Norfolk, as <br />shown on that certain plat recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the <br />City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 4, <br />page 70-71, which said lot joins a certain 12' <br />alley extending from Douglas Avenue, and from <br />that point of beginning, easterly along the <br />northern side of said alley, at the rear lot <br />lines of Lots 9189 and ~188, a distance of 80 <br />feet to the southeast corner of Lot ~188 where <br />it joins said alley; thence in a southerly <br />direction on the same course as that lot line <br />dividing Lot ~188 from Lot ~187, a distance of <br />12 feet to a point on the south side of said <br />alley; thence westerly along the south side of <br />said alley a distance of 80 feet to a point; <br />thence in a northerly direction on the same <br />course as that lot line dividing Lot ~189 from <br />~Lot ~190, a distance of 12 feet to the point <br /> of beginning. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held February 10, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
