68 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RELEASE EASEMENTS IN THE FORMER SUMLERS LANE NORTH OF LONDON BOULEVARD. UTILITY WHEREAS, by ordinance adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, on December 11, 1979, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Deed Book 799, page 666, Sumlers Lane north of London Boulevard was closed and vacated as a public street; and WHEREAS, by said ordinance the City of Portsmouth reserved unto itself an easement, right and privilege to install, maintain, operate and replace public utilities in said portion of the closed street; and WHEREAS, said utilities have been relocated and the easement is no longer necessary for public purposes; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Authority has ~equested purpose of consclidating purposes. Redevelopment and Housing that said easement be released said parcels for development for the IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City that the City Manager be, and he NOW, THEREFORE, BE of Portsmouth, Virginia, hereby is, authorized to sign a Deed of Release for the utility easement on the following described property: All that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, known and designated as Sumlers Lane (Avenue) as shown on that certain plat entitled "Plat Showing Survey of Sumlers Lane to be Closed, Portsmouth, virginia", dated July 13, 1979, prepared by Robert T. Addison and Associates, Surveying and Engineering, a copy of which is attached hereto. Adopted by the Council of the City of Pcrtsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held July 14, 1987. Teste: City Clerk
