68 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RELEASE <br />EASEMENTS IN THE FORMER SUMLERS LANE NORTH OF LONDON <br />BOULEVARD. <br /> <br />UTILITY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by ordinance adopted by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, on December 11, 1979, recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, in Deed Book 799, page 666, Sumlers Lane north of <br />London Boulevard was closed and vacated as a public street; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by said ordinance the City of Portsmouth <br />reserved unto itself an easement, right and privilege to <br />install, maintain, operate and replace public utilities in <br />said portion of the closed street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said utilities have been relocated and the <br />easement is no longer necessary for public purposes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth <br />Authority has ~equested <br />purpose of consclidating <br />purposes. <br /> <br />Redevelopment and Housing <br />that said easement be released <br />said parcels for development <br /> <br />for the <br /> <br />IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />that the City Manager be, and he <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />hereby is, authorized to sign a Deed of Release for the <br />utility easement on the following described property: <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, <br /> situate, lying and being in the City of <br /> Portsmouth, Virginia, known and designated as <br /> Sumlers Lane (Avenue) as shown on that certain <br /> plat entitled "Plat Showing Survey of Sumlers <br /> Lane to be Closed, Portsmouth, virginia", <br /> dated July 13, 1979, prepared by Robert T. <br /> Addison and Associates, Surveying and <br /> Engineering, a copy of which is attached <br /> hereto. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Pcrtsmouth, <br /> Virginia, at a meeting held July 14, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
