A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-OWNED PROPERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (BALLARD AVENUE). WHEREAS, the City owns certain hereinafter described real property located in the Hattonsville redevelopment area; and WHEREAS, said property is no longer required for public purposes and is, hereby, declared to be excess property; and WHEREAS, said property may be combined with other property owned by Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the purpose of conveyance for private business development; and WHEREAS, Section 2.09 (c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that the City may convey an interest in real property to the Commonwealth of Virginia or a political subdivision thereof without advertisement and receipt of bids; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority_ is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized to convey the hereinafter described real property to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to-wit: Ail those certain pieces or parcels of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being all that City-owned property described on Tax Map 464 as Parcel 14 and all that City-owned property described on Tax Map 565 as Parcel 2 exclusive of the pump station site, meter vault and 20' main located thereon. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he hereby is, authorized to sign such deeds or other documents may be necessary to complete this transaction. as Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held April 28, 1987.
