Police Officers serving as First Class Patrol Officers and <br />Field Training Officers shall receive an allowance of <br />$45.00 per month as designated by the Chief of Police and <br />approved in advance by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the grades of Firefighter, Fire <br />Lieutenant, and Fire Captain, who have successfully <br />completed the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) <br />course, shall receive an allowance in the amount of <br />$50.00 per month. <br /> <br />Cf) <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the grades of Firefighter, Fire <br />Lieutenant, and Fire Captain, serving in the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau, Training Bureau, and Administrative <br />Offices shall receive an allowance of $45.00 per month <br />as designated by the Fire Chief and approved in advance <br />by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Any sworn Officer of the Police Department who serves <br />as an Honor Guard or Honor Guard Supervisor shall <br />receive an allowance of $35.00 [Honor Guard) and $50.00 <br />(Honor Guard Supervisor) per month, as designated by <br />the Chief of Police and approved in advance by the <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />(h} <br /> <br />Any sworn Officer of the Police Department assigned to <br />the K-9 Corps, shall receive an-allowance of $50.00 <br />per month as designated by the Chief of Police and <br />approved in advance by the City Manager. <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the grades of Police Officer and <br />Firefighter may receive special recognition as Master <br />Police Officers or Master Firefighters. This recognition <br />shall be equivalent to a one step increase in the employees' <br />base salary for the duration of the period that the sworn <br />person retains the "MASTER" designation. <br /> <br />(J) <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the classification of Police Officer, <br />Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain, <br />Firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and Fire <br />Battalion Chief will receive an Education Allowance in <br />the amount of $580 per year for attainment of an <br />Associate's degree or $1,800 per year for attainment of <br />a Bachelor's degree. <br /> <br />SECTION 12. Complements of Fire Department and Police <br /> Department <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />The authorized complement of the Fire Department shall <br />be one Chief, one Deputy Chief for Operations, eight <br />Battalion Chiefs, thirty-six Captains, thirty-five <br />Lieutenants, and one hundred forty Firefighters. <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
