AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, BY ADDING ARTICLE X TO CHAPTER 24 THEREOF <br />PERTAINING TO RENTAL RATES FOR WILLETT HALL. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Chapter 24 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth be amended by adding thereto Article X to ~ead as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Article X. Rental of Willett Hall. <br /> <br />Section 24-177. Rental periods fo~ determining charges. <br /> <br /> The charges for the use of Willett shall be determined <br />by rental periods which shall be designated morning, <br />afternoon, evening or night; and an hourly overtime rental <br />rate for use which extends beyond the contracted period. The <br />hours of each rental period shall be as follows: Morning: <br />8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Afternoon: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />Evening: 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 B.m. Night: 12:00 midnight to <br />6:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Section 24-178. Rental rates prescribed. <br /> <br /> For ~ental of Willett Hall, the lessees shall pay one of <br />the rates set out in this section. <br /> <br /> (a) Ticketed events. The rental rate for ticketed <br />events (events subject to the City admissions tax) shall be <br />Four Hundred Fifty Dollars ($450.00) or four percent (4%) of <br />the gross receipts, exclusive of taxes, whichever amount is <br />large~. All additional rental periods in the same day shall <br />be at the rate of One Hundred Eighty Dollars ($180.00) Der <br />rental period; provided, however, that should such additional <br />rental period be used exclusively for ~ehearsal, setting up <br />or removing equipment, or other preparation for the event, <br />and the public IS not admitted, the fee shall be forty <br />percent (40%) of the established rate for the additional <br />~ental period. <br /> <br /> (b) Non-ticketed events. The rental rate for <br />non-ticketed events (events not subject to the City <br />admissions tax) shall be Four Hundred Fifty Dollars <br />($450.00). ~1I additional rental periods in the same day <br />shall be at the rate of One Hundred Forty Dollars (S140.00) <br />per rental period; p~ovided, however, that should such <br />additional rental period be used exclusively fo~ rehearsal, <br />setting up or ~emovlng equipment, or othe~ preparation for <br />the event, and the public is not admitted, the fee shall be <br />forty percent (40%) of the established rate for the <br /> <br /> <br />
