DIVISION 5. Department of Inspections <br /> <br />Section 2-154. Designation for supervision. <br /> <br /> The Department of Inspections created by ~6-7 of this <br />Code shall be under the control and supervision of the <br />Director of Environmental Services for administration and <br />operational purposes. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE XX. Department of General Services <br /> <br />Section 2-373. Powers and duties. <br /> <br /> Subject to the supervision and control of the City <br />Manager and subject to the provisions of this Code and other <br />ordinances of the City, the Director of General Services shall <br />be charged with the following duties and responsibilities. <br /> <br /> (a) General management and control of the several <br />bureaus, divisions and other units of the Departmen~ of <br />General Services; <br /> <br /> (b) The acquisition, operation, maintenance and sale of <br />all motor vehicles of the City, and supervision of the <br />operation of the Vehicles Service Center. <br /> <br /> (c) Supervision of the maintenance, heating, lighting <br />and janitorial services for all City owned structures, except <br />when otherwise directed by the City Manager; <br /> <br /> (d) Supervision of the collection and disposition of <br />garbage, refuse, trash and bulk refuse by the City, <br /> <br /> (e) <br />Streets. <br /> <br />Supervision of the cleaning and sweeping of City <br /> <br /> (f) Such other powers and duties as may be assigned to <br />the Department of General Services by the City Manager. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XXII. <br /> <br />Department of Environmental Services <br /> <br />Section 2-390. EstaDlished~ Composition. <br /> <br /> There is hereby established a department of the City <br />Government known and designated as the Department of <br />Environmental Services, consisting of the Director and such <br />other employees as may be provided by ordinance by the orders <br />of the City Manager consistent therewith. <br /> <br />Section 2-391. Appointment of Director. <br /> <br /> The Director shall be appointed by the City Manager and <br />shall be the head of the Departmenc of Environmental ServIces. <br /> <br /> <br />
