1988-99 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF A TEN FOOT ALLEY ON THE WEST SIDE OF EVERGREEN PLACE. WHEREAS, James H. Coppage and James H. Coppage and Theola Johnson, Trustees of Pentecostal Workers of Christ Temple have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of a ten foot alley on the west side of Evergreen Place; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted August 9, 1988, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said alley and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said portion of the 10 foot alley; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from discontinuing of said alley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of the 10 foot alley be closed and vacated as a public alley. Ten Foot Alley Ail that portion of the ten (10) foot alley situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, running through Block Ten (10) on the plat of Piedmont Heights, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake in Map Book 4, page 52, described as follows: Beginning on the west side of Evergreen Place at the southeast corner of Lot Thirteen (13) in Block Ten (10) on said plat of Piedmont Heights; thence west 110 feet; thence south 75 feet; thence east 10 feet; thence north 65 feet; thence east 100 feet to the west side of Evergreen Place and thence north along Evergreen Place 10 feet to the point of beginning.
