1988-67 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 4 (d) AND 13 OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN <br />(ORDINANCE NO. 1988-64), PERTAINING TO ADMINISTRATIVE <br />SALARY ADJUSTMENTS AND SALARIES FOR UNCLASSIFIED POSITIONS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 4 (d) of Ordinance No. 1988-64, the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia Classification and Pay Plan, <br />be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 4. Compensati0n and salary Adjustment <br /> <br />(d) Administative salary adjustments <br /> <br /> The City Manager retains the authority to make <br />administrative salary adjustments. The reasons for <br />adjustments include, but are not limited to: <br /> <br />(1) Performance recognition, positive or negative; <br />(2) Approval of departmental requests for special <br /> salary actions, positive or negative; <br />(3) Correction of verified errors in application <br /> of the Pay Plan. <br /> <br /> The City Manager shall submit to the City Council <br />approval any proposed administrative salary adjustment <br />which includes the payment of compensation above the <br />maximum step of an assigned pay grade. <br /> <br />for <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 13 of Ordinance No. 1988-64, the <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia Classification and Pay Plan be <br />amended to read as ~ollows: <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Section 13. Salaries for Unclassified Positions <br /> <br /> (a) The annual salary of the following unclassified <br />positions shall be the amounts stated herein: <br /> <br />7/1/88 <br />6/30/89 <br /> <br />1) City Manager 89,831 <br />2) City Attorney 78,300 <br />3) City Assessor 47,754 <br />4) City Clerk 34,997 <br />5) Mayor 15,000 <br />6) City Council 13,000 <br /> <br /> <br />
