SECTION 12. Complements of Fire Department and Police Ca) The authorized complement of the Fire Department shall be one Chief, one Deputy Chief for Operations, eight Battalion Chiefs, thirty-six Captains, thirty-five Lieutenants, and one hundred forty Firefighters. The authorized complement of the Police 9epartment shall be one Chief, two Assistant Chiefs, one Field Operations Commander, seven Captains, fourteen Lieutenants, twenty- five Sergeants, and one hundred sixty-one Police Officers. SECTION 1S. Salaries for Unclassified Positions [a) The annual salary rates of the following unclassified positions shall be the amounts stated herein: 7/1/88 - 6/30/89 (~1) City Manager 89,831 (.2) City Attorney 78,300 (S) City Assessor 47,?S4 (4) City Clerk 34,997 (5) Mayor i5,000 (6) Council Member 13,000 (b) Part-time employees, whose positions are not classified shall receive compensation as prescribed by the Depart- ment Head and the Director of Personnel. SECTION 14. Adjustments of Retirement Allowances [a) The adjustments of retirement allowances as prescribed in Sections 31-268 and $1-1SS of the Code of the City of Portsmouth shall be increased by 5.35%. (~) In addition to the adjustments authorized in paragraph (a) above, an additional one-time adjustment shall be granted to pensioners of the Portsmouth Fire and Police Retiremenk System computed on the amount of pension paid by the Fire and Police Retirement System on July 1, 1988, and of the former Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement System computed on the amount of pension paid by the Virginia Supplemental Retirement System on July 1, 1988.
