AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1-12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, PERTAINING TO THE LEASE OF CITY <br />PROPERTY · <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />as follows: <br /> <br />1-12 of the Code of the City of <br />1973, be amended and reordained <br /> <br />to read <br /> <br />Section 1-12. Lease of City propersy to persons which <br /> discriminate prohibited. <br /> <br /> The City shall not lease or grant any privilege or right <br />df any kind to use any public property including land, <br />buildings or other facilities to any person or organization <br />which discriminates in its offering of goods, services, <br />facilities, privileges, advantages, accommodations, <br />memberships or activities on the basis of race, color, <br />religion, national orlg~n or sex. In ~he event such <br />discriminatory policy or practice is discovered after <br />execution of an agreement, the agreement shall be deemed void. <br /> <br /> 2.
