A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF <br />SHIPWRIGHT STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Herbert A. Haneman, Jr., Helen H. Gould and Mary H. <br />Dixon have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter-described portion of Shipwright Street, and it <br />appearing that notice of application and request for appointment <br />of viewers has been duly advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard Ottavio, Simon P. Arrington, <br />Robert McCurdy, James McGehee and Raymond Tweed be appointed <br />viewers and that Albert Carr and Howard Davis be appointed <br />alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails <br />to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described <br />portion of said street and to report to this Council in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would <br />result in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />Shipwright Street <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point in the southern right-of-way <br />of Shipwright Street approximately 276.5' southwest <br />of the intersection of the southern right-of-way of <br />Shipwright Street and the western right-of-way of <br />Mariner Avenue (formerly 4th Street) ("the point of <br />beginning"); the point of beginning being further <br />identified as the point which is the intersection <br />of the southwest corner of the property now or <br />formerly owned by Associated Naval Architects, Inc., <br />and the northeast intersection of the property <br />presently owned by Herbert A. Haneman, Jr., Helen <br />H. Gould and Mary H. Dixon; thence form the point of <br />beginning proceeding N 23° 57' 42" W a distance of <br />20.0' to a point; thence turning and running S 66° <br />02' 18" W a distance of 119.9' to a point; thence <br />turning S 23° 57' 42" E a distance of 20.0' to a <br />point; thence turning and running N 66° 02' 18" <br />E a distance of 119.9' to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />at a <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />meeting held February 9, 1988. <br /> <br />Virginia, <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
