A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF SHIPWRIGHT STREET. WHEREAS, Herbert A. Haneman, Jr., Helen H. Gould and Mary H. Dixon have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of Shipwright Street, and it appearing that notice of application and request for appointment of viewers has been duly advertised as required by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard Ottavio, Simon P. Arrington, Robert McCurdy, James McGehee and Raymond Tweed be appointed viewers and that Albert Carr and Howard Davis be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described portion of said street and to report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following: Shipwright Street Beginning at a point in the southern right-of-way of Shipwright Street approximately 276.5' southwest of the intersection of the southern right-of-way of Shipwright Street and the western right-of-way of Mariner Avenue (formerly 4th Street) ("the point of beginning"); the point of beginning being further identified as the point which is the intersection of the southwest corner of the property now or formerly owned by Associated Naval Architects, Inc., and the northeast intersection of the property presently owned by Herbert A. Haneman, Jr., Helen H. Gould and Mary H. Dixon; thence form the point of beginning proceeding N 23° 57' 42" W a distance of 20.0' to a point; thence turning and running S 66° 02' 18" W a distance of 119.9' to a point; thence turning S 23° 57' 42" E a distance of 20.0' to a point; thence turning and running N 66° 02' 18" E a distance of 119.9' to the point of beginning. at a Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, meeting held February 9, 1988.
