79 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER FOR <br />ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE AS THE CITY'S AUTHORIZED AGENT <br />FEDERAL DISASTER RELIEF PURPOSES. <br /> <br />FOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the event that a major emergency or disaster <br />occurs in the City, it is essential that procurements, <br />authorizations, cost accounting and documentations be <br />coordinated if Federal disaster funds are to be requested; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) <br />regulations, it is required that each governing body designate <br />an Authorized Agent to coordinate such functions and to <br />execute necessary agreements and assurances for emergency and <br />disaster relief purposes. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia that Roy W. Cherry, Assistant City <br />Manager for Administration and Finance, be and is hereby <br />designated the Authorized Agent of the City of Portsmouth, <br />for the purpose of providing such assurances, agreements, and <br />data on behalf of the City as may be required to obtain <br />Federal financial assistance under the Disaster Relief Act <br />(Public Law 288, 93rd Congress) or from any other Federal <br />source. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held November 21, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
