77 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS ~OR CLOSING THOMAS STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Bryant Eo Collins, J~., has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hEreinafter-described Thomas <br />Street, and it appearin~ that Notice of Application and <br />Request for Appointment of Viewers has been advertised as <br />required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, James P. <br />Eley, Clinton Fortune, Matthew Peanort and L.A. Clark be <br />appointed viewers and that James Vick and Lester Harrinqton, <br />be appeinted alternate viewers in the event one of the <br />preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view <br />the hereinafter-described street and to report to this Council <br />in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, <br />inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the <br />following: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain street or alley located <br />in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and known <br />as Thomas Street, bounded on the north by Syer <br />Road, on the south by property now or formerly <br />of the City of Portsmouth, on the east by the <br />western line of Lot 30 as shown on that plat <br />filed in the suit of Baugh and Sons Company <br />vs. Annie E. Taylor, Executrix of J.C. Taylor, <br />deceased, et als, once pending in the Ccurt of <br />~ustings, now the Circuit Court of the City of <br />Portsmouth, described as "Plat No. 1 of J.C. <br />Taylor's land ne&r Cottage Place, in Norfolk <br />County," and on the west by the eastern line <br />of Lot 31 as shown on the aforesaid plat. <br /> <br /> The foregoing street lies between <br />properties designated on City of Portsmouth <br />tax maps as Map and Parcel 187-0010 and <br />187-0020. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held November 21, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
