6 <br /> <br />k RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. <br />ENFORCEMENT SERVICES. <br /> <br />MANAGER TO ENTER INTO <br />COAST GUARD FOR LAW <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, local governments are authorized to enter Into <br />reciprocal agreements for mutual aid in cooperation In the <br />furnishing of law enforcement services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth and the U.S. Coast Guard <br />have determined that provision of law enforcement services <br />across jurisdictional lines at the U.S. Coast Guard Support <br />Center, Portsmouth, VirGinia, will increase the ability of <br />local governments to preserve and protect the safety and <br />welfare of the citizens. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to enter into a mutual aid agreement <br />with the U.S. Coast Guard for law enforcement services. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held January 10, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
