SECTION 10. Overtime <br /> <br />(a) Eligibilit¥ for Overtime compensation shall be determined by <br />the DePartment Head and the Director of Personnel in accordance <br />with the Fair Labor'Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA), as amended, <br />including, but not limited to, the 1985 Amendments to the FLSA as <br />same is applied to City employment through the adoption of the <br />City's Administrativ~ Policy Directive pertaining to overtime. <br /> <br />(b) Exempt and Non-Exempt classification are indicated in the <br />Classes of Positions Assigned to Pay Grades Section. The letter <br />E after the Grade designation indicates positions that are EXEMPT <br />from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. The absence <br />of the Letter E indicates that the position is NON-EXEMPT, and is <br />subject to overtime according to (a) above. <br /> <br />(c) The City Manager may authorize payment for overtime to any <br />employee. <br /> <br />SECTION 11. Additional Compensation - Firefi~hters and Police <br /> Officers <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Any sworn officer of the Fire or Police Departments who is <br />required to wear civilian clothes in the regular performance <br />of official duties, shall be paid an additional $50.00 per <br />month as clothing allowance. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the grades of Police Officer, Police <br />Sergeant, and Police Lieutenant shall receive an allowance <br />in the amount of $50.00 per month as compensation for being <br />required to wear a handgun at all times. <br /> <br />(c) Police Department Helicopter Pilots shall receive a flight <br /> pay allowance in the amount of $130.00 per month. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Police Officers serving as First Class Patrol Officers and <br />Field Training Officers shall receive an allowance of $45.00 <br />per month as designated by the Chief of Police and approved <br />in advance by the City ManaGer. <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the grades of Firefighter, Fire <br />Lieutenant, and Fire Captain, who have successfully <br />completed the EmerGency Medical Technician (EMT) course, <br />shall receive an allowance in the amount of $50.00 per <br />month. <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the grades of FirefiGhter, Fire <br />Lieutenant, and Fire Captain, serving in the Fire Prevention <br />Bureau, TraininG Bureau, and Administrative Office shall <br />receive an allowance of $45.00 per month as designated by <br />the Fire Chief and approved in advance by the City ManaGer. <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
