AN ORDINANCE TO ~END THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 40-31, 40-68 (b) AND <br />40-71 (b) THEREOF, PERTAINING TO FLEA MARKETS AND SIMILAR <br />USES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 40-31 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by adding~thereto the <br />following definition to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-31. Definition. <br /> <br /> FLEA MARKETS: A site where space inside or outside a <br />building is rented to vendors on a short term basis for the <br />sale of merc%andise. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 40-68 (b) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by including therein <br />the following described use: <br /> <br /> Second hand stores, flea markets, auction sales and <br />auction houses provided that all activities, displays and <br />storage shall be within completely enclosed buildings. <br /> <br /> 3. That Section 40-71 (b) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by including therein <br />the following described use: <br /> <br /> Second hand stores, flea markets, auction sales and <br />auction houses provided that all activities, displays and <br />storage shall be within completely enclosed buildings. <br /> <br /> 4. This ordinance shall take effect from the date of its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held February 28, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
