AN ORDINANCE CLOSING POWER STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Virginia Power has made application to vacate, <br />close and discontinue Power Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted December <br />13, 1988, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the said street <br />and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if <br />any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said <br />Power Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Power Street be closed and <br />vacated as a public street. <br /> <br /> Power Street from its intersection with <br />the eastern boundary of Hamilton Avenue <br />approximately 388 feet to the eastern <br />terminus of Power Street. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that that the City of Portsmouth <br />hereby reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and <br />privilege to install, operate, maintain and replace sewer <br />mains, sewer drains, sanitary sewers and telephone.lines over, <br />under and across the hereinabove described street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held February 28, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
