7.06 Undergrounding of Cable. <br /> <br /> A. Except as hereinafter provided, in all areas of <br /> the City where the cables, wires and other like facilities <br /> of a public utility or public utility district are placed <br /> underground, Grantee shall construct and install its <br /> cables, wires and other facilities underground. Amplifier <br /> boxes and pedestal mounted terminal boxes may be placed <br /> above ground if existing technology and economics <br /> reasonably require, but shall be of such size and design <br /> and shall be so located as not to be unsafe. <br /> <br /> B. In any area of the City where there are certain <br /> cables, wires and other like facilities of a public utility <br /> or public utility district underground, and at least one <br /> operable cable, wire or like facility of a public utility <br /> or public utility district suspended above the ground from <br /> poles, Grantee may construct and install its cable, wires <br /> and other facilities from the same pole. <br /> <br /> C. Grantee shall place cable underground in newly <br /> platted areas in concert with other utilities unless this <br /> requirement is waived by the City. <br /> <br /> 7.07 Reservation of Street Rights. <br /> <br /> A. Nothing in this Franchise shall be construed to <br />prevent the City from constructing, maintaining, repairing <br />or relocating sewers; grading, paving, maintaining, <br />repairing, relocating and/or altering any Street; <br />constructing, laying down, repairing, maintaining or <br /> <br />-17- <br /> <br /> <br />
