or fails or refuses without just cause to cease such <br />obstruction when requested to do so by such judge, magistrate, <br />justice, juror, witness, or ~aw-enf~rcement officer, he shall <br />be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> (b) If any person, by threats, or force, knowingly <br />attempts to intimidate or impede a judge, magistrate, justice, <br />juror, witness, or any law enforcement officer, lawfully <br />engaged in his duties as such, or to obstruct or impede the <br />administration of justice in any court, he shall be deemed to <br />be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> (c) The provisions of this section shall not apply to <br />such conduct relating to a violation of or conspiracy to <br />violate Section 18.2-248 or 18.2-248.1Ia)(3), (b) or (c) of <br />the Code of Virginia. <br /> <br />Section 24-289. Mistreatment or interference with <br /> police animals. <br /> <br /> Any person who, without causing bodily injury, willfully <br />torments, beats, kicks, strikes, or otherwise mistreats an <br />animal owned by the police department or who willfully <br />interferes with the lawful performance of such animal in a <br />police activity shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. Any <br />person who'willfully touches such animal in any manner after <br />being directed not to do so by a police officer shall be <br />guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Section 24-317. Trespass at night upon church or school <br /> property. <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for any person, without the <br />consent of some person authorized to give such consent, to go <br />or enter upon, in the nighttime, the premises or property of <br />any church or upon any school property for any purpose other <br />than to attend a meeting or service held or conducted in such <br />church or school property. <br /> <br /> (b) It shall be unlawful for any person, whether or not <br />a student, to enter upon or remain upon any school property <br />after having been directed to vacate the property by a person <br />authorized to give such direction. Each time such person <br />enters upon or remains on the premises after such direction <br />shall constitute a separate offense. <br /> <br /> (c) Any person violating the provisions of this section <br />shall be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Section 24-363.
