AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF HALIFAX AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described <br />portion of Halifax Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted April 11, <br />1989, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion o~ said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said portion of Halifax <br />Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of.Halifax Avenue be closed.and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br /> Beginning at the southeast corner of <br />Queen Street and Halifax Avenue, thence <br />S 03° 24' 18" W 33.33' to the proposed <br />north right-of-way of High Street, <br />thence along the proposed right-of-way <br />of High Street N 47° 04' 05" W 24.54' <br />to a point of curvature, thence along a <br />curve to the right having a radius of <br />10.00', an arc distance of 24.52' to the <br />point of cusp; thence along the prolongation <br />of the south right-of-way of Queen Street <br />S 86° 35' 42" E 12.56' to the point of <br />beginning. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />VirgInia, at a meeting held June 27, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
