AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 5 OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN (ORDINANCE NO. 1989-47) <br />BY ADDING THERETO SUBSECTION (d), PERTAINING TO ALLOWANCES FOR <br />COMPUTER SERVICES EMPLOYEES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1989-47, the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia Classification and Pay Plan, be amended <br />by adding thereto subsection (d), such subsection to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 5. Allowances. <br /> <br /> The rate of pay set forth in this schedule shall be <br />deemed to include the full compensation of the employee; <br />however, the value of any allowances made to the employee by <br />the City shall also be considered a part of the total <br />compensation. <br /> <br /> (d) Computer Services' employees as designated by the <br />Director of Computer Services and approved in writing by the <br />City Manager who are required on a regular basis to perform <br />trouble-shooting, analysis and repairs to the City's word <br />processing equipment shall receive an allowance of ninety <br />dollars ($90.00) per month. <br /> <br />2.
