(f) Absences by Exempt Employees Who Have No Accumulated Leave To the extent required by the Fair Labor Standards Act and the regulations promulgated pursuant to that Act, and further to the extent authorized by state law, employees who are exempt from the overtime provisions of that Act shall not receive deduction, s from their compensation for. periods of absence from work of less than one day, if such employees have no accumulated leave applicable to such absence, except in cases of disciplinary action. The Director of Personnel and Training shall develop and enforce such specific policies regarding the taking of such absences by employees as may be necessary. (g) Application The Director of Personnel and Training is responsible for application of the Compensation and Salary Adjustment section as it relates to the three parts of this Pay Plan: 1. REGULATIONS FOR ADMINISTRATION. 2. CLASSES OF POSITIONS ASSIGNED TO 3. PAY SCHEDULE PAY GRADES This responsibility includes clarification and resolution of any problem or question not specifically covered by the Classification and Pay Plan. SECTION 5. Allowances The rate of pay set forth in this schedule shall be deemed to include the full compensation of the employee; however, the value of any allowances made to the employee bY the City shall also be considered a part of total compensation. (a) An employee who previously has been authorized to receive an allowance of $500.00 per year prior to the termination of the former educational allowance program, shall continue to receive this allowance. (b) The City Manager is authorized to approve automobile and general expense allowances for specified employees provided such allowances are established in writing by the City Manager. (c) Radio communications employees who are required to be available for 24 hour emergency repairs to the City's Radio Communications system shall receive an allowance of $90.00 per month. -5-
