AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE COD~ OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGI~IA~ 1988, ~¥ AMENDING SECTIO~ 2-~66~ P~RTAINING TO <br />GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE CITY MANAGER. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 2-166 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be ordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 2-166. General Powers and Duties. <br /> <br /> The city manager shall have such powers and duties as are <br />now or may hereafter be prescribed for him in the Charter and <br />the laws of this State, and such other duties as may be <br />imposed upon him by the City Council. In the event of the <br />inability of the city manager to perform the duties of his <br />office by reason ~f absence, vacation, sickness or other <br />disability, the deputy city manager shall have such powers and <br />perform such duties as are prescribed for the city manager. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall take effect on the date of its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held December 11, 1990. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
