AN ORDINANCE CLOSING SEVERAL ALLEYS BETWEEN ALDEN AVENUE AND <br />BAINBRIDGE AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made application <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described <br />alleys; <br /> <br />to <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted January 9, <br />1990, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described alleys and to ~eport in writing whether in their <br />opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from <br />discontinuing said alleys; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers h~ve reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said alleys. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />be closed and vacated as <br /> <br />IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />that the hereinafter described alleys <br />public alleys. <br /> <br /> The three alleys as shown on the plat of <br />Cradock, Block 12; said block being bounded <br />by Alden Avenue on the north, Decatur Street <br />on the east, Bainbridge Avenue on the south, <br />and Cushing Street on the west. <br /> <br /> Ail that alley as shown on the plat of <br />Cradock, Block 20; said block being bounded <br />by Alden Avenue on the north, Emmons Place <br />on the east, Bainbridge Avenue on the south, <br />and Prospect Parkway on the west. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby <br />reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege <br />to install, operate, maintain and replace telephone lines and <br />electric power lines over, under and across the hereinabove <br />described alleys. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held April 24, 1990. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
