AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF LARCHWOOD STREET. WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Larchwood Street; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted June 26, ...... 1990, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said portion of Larchwood Street; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Larchwood Street be closed and vacated as a public street. Larchwood Street Beginning at the Southwest Intersection of Mount Vernon Avenue and Larchwood Street; thence West along the South right-of-way of Larchwood Street 120.19' to its dead end; thence North along the West right-of-way of Larchwood Street 30' to a point; thence Bast along the North right-of-way of Larchwood Street 119.92' to its Northwest Intersection with Mount Vernon Avenue; thence South along the West right-of-way of Mount Vernon Avenue 30' to the the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege to install, operate, maintain and replace electric power lines over, under and across the hereinabove described portion of Larchwood Street.
