AN ORDINANCE TO ~/~END THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTION 7-5, BY ADDING SUBSECTION <br />(20), PERTAINING TO BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />Virginia, that Section 7-5 of the Code of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended by <br />(20) to read as follows: <br /> <br />City of Portsmouth, <br />the City of <br />adding Subsection <br /> <br />Section 7-5. Special requirements for housing for the <br /> elderly. <br /> <br /> (20) Fire suppression systems are required in nursing <br />facilities and nursing homes after January 1, 1990, regardless <br />of when such institution was constructed. Such fire <br />suppression systems sbDll comply with the regulations of the <br />Board of Housing and Community Development as promulgated by <br />October 1, 1990. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 1990. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on June 26, 1990. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
