58 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY <br />PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF THOMAS CIRCLE TO THE <br />PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City owns or intends to acquire ownership of <br />certain hereinafter-described real property located on the <br />southern side of Thomas Circle, which property is no longer <br />required for public purposes and is, hereby, declared to be <br />excess property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />to be in the <br />developed and <br /> <br />the Council of the City of Portsmoutk deems it <br />best interest of the City for said property to be <br />put to its best and highest use. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and hereby <br />is, authorized to convey the hereinafter-described property to <br />the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the southeast intersection of the <br />south right-of-way line of South Street and the <br />east right-of-way line of Thomas Circle, thence <br />south along the eas~ right-of-way line of Thomas <br />Circle 184.94' to the true point of beginning, <br />thence south 150' to a point, thence west 30' to a <br />point, thence north 150' to a point, thence east <br />30' to the true point of beginning. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and <br />hereby is, authorized to execute such deeds or other documents <br />as may be necessary to carry out the intent of this <br />resolution. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held July 24, 1990. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
