37 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE PORTSMOUTH INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT <br />AUTHORITY TO FACILITATE THE EXCHANGE OF PROPERTIES BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AND MARYVIEW SOSPITAL PERTAINING TO <br />THE WIDENING OF HIGH STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO CARRY OUT THE TERMS OF SAID AGREEMENT. <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the City of Portsmouth has determined that <br />is necessary to the health, safety and welfare of its <br />citizens to widen High Street in the area of Maryview <br />Hospital; and <br /> <br />it <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed widening necessitates the taking <br />of portions of Maryview Hospital property now used as a <br />parking area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Maryvlew Hospital is presently beginning new <br />construction to enlarge its facility, and is in need of <br />additional land on which to provide parking. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia that the City Manager be and he <br />is hereby authorized to enter an agreement between the City <br />of Portsmouth and Maryview Hospital providing for an exchange <br />of properties, upon such terms and conditions as he deems to <br />be in the best interests of the City, and more specifically <br />providing that the City of Portsmouth will convey to the <br />Industrial Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that parcel of land shown and designated as Figure <br />1 on a plat entitled "Plat Showing Property To Be Conveyed To <br />Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia," dated May 1, 1990, <br />made by Hassell & Folkes, P.C., Engineers, Surveyors & <br />Planners, Chesapeake, Virginia, and further providing that <br />the Industrial Development Authority of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, will convey said property to Maryview <br />Hospital. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />is hereby authorized as a part of said agreement to provide <br />for a lease to Maryview Hospital for a parcel of property <br />containing 0.392 acres as shown on that exhibit entitled ~ <br />"Exhibit Showing Property To Be Leased To Maryview Hospital <br />For Parking Purposes, Portsmouth, Virginia," dated November <br />16, 1990, made by Hassell & Folkes, P.C., Engineers, <br />Surveyors & Planners, Chesapeake, Virginia. <br /> <br /> <br />
