61 A RESOLUTION DEDICATING A PARCEL OF PROPERTY IN THE WEAVER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, VA. R-40, AS AN EXTENSION OF THOMAS CIRCLE. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is the owner of the hereinafter-described property, located in the Weaver Redevelopment Project, Va. R-40; and WHEREAS, said property is a portion of the segment of Thomas Circle which was closed as a public way of the City of Portsmouth by Ordinance of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on May 14, 1968; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth now deems it to be in the best interest of the City to re-establish as a public street a portion of the closed segment of Thomas Circle. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described property be dedicated as a public street, to-wit: Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, it formerly being a portion of Thomas Circle, being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point located on the southwest corner of the right-of-way of Thomas Circle 181.70' south of the intersection of South Street and Thomas Circle, thence running north 86° 51' 51" east along the current southern line of the rightmof-way of Thomas Circle a distance of 60', thence south 3° 30' 16" east a distance of 88', thence south 86° 51' 51" west a distance of 60', thence north 3° 30' 16" west a distance of 88' to the Point of Beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that hereby is, authorized to execute instruments and documents as may intent of this resolation. the City Maaager be, and such plats, deeds, and other be necessary to carry out the Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held October 22, 1991.
