1991-89 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING TABLES 40-43.1-2, 40-43.1-3, AND 40-44-3 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO ZONING USE SCHEDULES AND TO DIMENSIONAL REQUIREMENTS IN NON-RESIDENtIAL ZONING DISTRICTS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Table 40-43.1-2 of Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended by amending the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) number 7999 to read 7997 for the permitted use "Country club." 2. That Table 40-43.1-3 of Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended by adding thereto in the Downtown D-1 and D-2 Mixed Use (M) zoning subdistricts, the permitted use "Water transportation of passengers," as defined by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) number 448. 3. That Tables 40-43.1-2 and 40-43.1-3 of Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended by adding thereto the uses "Mobile homes; mobile home parks; mobile home subdivisions," as defined by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) number 6515, subject to Condition 23 of Section 40-43.4 of said Code. 4. That ~ables 40-43.1-2 and 40-43.1-3 of Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended by adding thereto the use "Cemetery operation," as defined by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) number 6553, subject to Condition 37 of Section 40-43.4 of said Code. 5. That Ta~le~s 40-43.1-2 ~nd 40-'43.1-3 of Chapte~ 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to require compliance by the use "Amusemsnt and Recreation Services" with the requirements of Parking Group 20 of Section 40-45 of said Code. 6. That Tables 40-43.1-2 and 40-43.1-3 of Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended by deleting the use "Health club," and by adding thereto the use "Physical fitness facilities" as defined by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) number 7991, as a permitted use in the Planned Office Park POP, Neighborhood Commercial C-l, General Commercial C-2, Commerce Park CP, and Industrial M-1 zoning districts and in the Downtown D-1 and Downtown D-2 Central Business (CB), Commercial (C), Mixed Use (M), and Industrial (I) zoning subdistricts, and as a use requiring a use permit in the Industrial M-1-R zoning district, subject to the requirements of Parking Group 13 of Section 40-45 of said Code.
