(4) <br /> <br />A strip of land meeting the standards of <br />landscaping group 5 except that its minimum <br />width shall be ten (10) feet. <br /> <br />An off-street parking area shall be considered to abut a <br />public street or walk if it is located within twenty-five <br />(25) feet of a public right of way or walk. <br /> <br />Section 40-71.3. Requirements for off-street loading areas. <br /> <br /> Off-street loading areas shall be provided for all <br />non-residential uses as follows: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />One (1) off-street loading space shall be provided <br />if the zone lot devoted to a non-residential use has <br />an area of more than seven thousand five hundred <br />(7,500) square feet but less than twenty thousand <br />(20,000) square feet; and one space for each <br />additional 20,000 square feet of lot area. Such <br />space, unless otherwise adequately provided for, <br />shall not be less than twelve (12) feet in width, <br />thirty (30) feet in length, and fifteen (15) feet in <br />height. <br /> <br />Section 40-178.1. Other powers and duties. <br /> <br /> Each commission shall have the power to promote public <br />interest in the promotion and preservation of educational, <br />cultural and economic interests, opportunities and advantages <br />through the execution and attainment of the purposes and <br />objectives of the historic district and to that end, may <br />employ such reasonable means of publicity and education as it <br />may deem necessary with relation to the preservation and <br />protection of historic buildings and structures and places and <br />areas of historic interest in the ~ity. I~ shall be the <br />continuing duty of-each commission to investigate and <br />designate buildings, structures, places and areas in the city <br />having historic interest or value which would be preserved and <br />protected in the execution and attainment of the purposes and <br />objectives of the historic district and to report thereon from <br />time to time to the city council for consideration as to <br />whether they or any of them shall be set apart for <br />preservation and recognition, through whatever means possibie. <br /> <br />Section 40-179.1. Certificate issuance authority. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Certificate of Intent. The downtown design <br />committee shall have the power and the duty to issue <br />or deny a certificate of intent on all proposed <br />building and development within the Downtown D-1 and <br />D-2 districts.
