AN ORDINANCE CLOSING PORTIONS OF G STREET, WILCOX AVENUE, <br />MARSHALL AVENUE, LEE STREET, PENNOCK STREETt MCCRACKEN STREET <br />AND IVEY PLACE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />and Jean Davis have made application to vacate, close and <br />discontinue the hereinafter described portions of G Street, <br />Wilcox Avenue, Marshall Avenue, Lee Street, Pennock Street, <br />McCracken Street, and Ivey Place; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted May 14, <br />1991, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portions of said streets and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said portions of G Street, <br />Wilcox Avenue, Marshall Avenue, Lee Street, Pennock Street, <br />McCracken Street and Ivey Place. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing portions of said streets. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portions of G Street, Wilcox Avenue, Marshall Avenue, Lee <br />Street, Pennock Street, McCrecken Street, and Ivey Place be <br />closed and vacated as public streets. <br /> <br /> G Street <br /> <br /> That portion of G Street as shown on the Plat <br />of I. O. Ivey, which is bounded on the South by <br />the Northern right-of-way of Elliott Avenue, <br />and on the North by an extension to the West of <br />the Northern right-of-way of Wilcox Avenue, as <br />shown on Tax Map 149. <br /> <br />Wilcox Avenue <br /> <br /> That stub portion of Wilcox Avenue lying to <br />the West of the Southern right-of-way line of G <br />Street as shown on the Plat of I. O. Ivey, and <br />shown on Tax Map 149. <br /> <br /> <br />
