SECTION <br />(a) <br /> <br /> 10. Overtime <br /> <br />Eligibility for overtime compensation shall be determined by <br />the Department Head and the Director of Employee Resources and <br />Development in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act of <br />1938 (FLSA), as amended, including, but not limited to; the <br />1985 Amendments to the FLSA as same is applied to City <br />employment through the adoption of the City's Adninistrative <br />Policy Directive pertaining to overtime. <br /> <br />Exempt and Non-Exempt classification are indicated in the <br />Classes of Positions Assigned to Pay Grades Section. The <br />letter E after the Grade designation indicates positions that <br />are EXEMPT from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />The absence of the Letter E indicates that the position is <br />NON-EXEMPT, and is subject to overtime according to (a) above. <br /> <br /> may authorize payment for overt[me to any <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />(c) The City Manager <br /> employee. <br /> <br />SECTION 11. Additional <br /> <br />Compensation - Firefiqhters and Police <br /> <br /> Officers <br /> <br />(a) Any sworn officer of the Fire or Police Departments who is <br /> required to wear civilian clothes in the regular performance of <br /> official duties, shall be paid an additional $50.00 per month <br /> as clothing allowance. <br /> <br />(b) Sworn personnel in the grades of Police Officer, Police <br /> Sergeant, and Police Lieutenant shall receive an allowance in <br /> the amount of $50.00 per month as compensation for being <br /> required to wear a handgun at all times. <br /> <br />(c) Police Officers serving as First Class Patrol Officers and <br /> Field Training Officers shall receive an allowance of $45.00 <br /> per month as designated by the Chief of Police and approved in <br /> advance by the City Manager. <br /> <br />(d) Sworn personnel in the grades of Firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, <br /> Fire Captain, who have successfully completed the Emergency <br /> Medical Technician (EMT) course, shall receive an allowance in <br /> the amount of $50.00 per month. <br /> <br />(e) Sworn personnel in the Fire Department who have successfully <br /> completed the core classes as defined by the Department of <br /> Emergency Services and currently assigned to the Hazardous <br /> Materials Team, shall ~eceive an allowance in the amount o~ <br /> $50.00 per month. <br /> <br /> (f) Sworn personnel in the grades of Firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, <br /> and Fire Captain, serving in the Fire Prevention Bureau, <br /> Training Bureau, and Administrative Office shall receive an <br /> allowance of $45.00 per month as designated by the Fire Chief <br /> and approved in advance by the City Manager. <br /> <br />-7- <br /> <br /> <br />
