AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTION 38-117(a), THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO RATES FOR DISPOSAL OF SEWAGE. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 38-117ia) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and reordained as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-117(a). <br /> <br />Rate. <br /> <br /> (a) Charges for the disposal of sewage discharged into <br />the City sewer system will be based upon the water consumed on <br />the premises as measured by meters used for this purpose at <br />the rate of ninety and ninety hundredths cents ($0.9090) per <br />one thousand (1,000) gallons or sixty-eight cents ($0.68) per <br />one hundred (100) cubic feet. The minimum charge for such <br />servfce shall be one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per month. <br /> <br /> 2. This ordinance shall take effect July 1, 1991 and <br />shall be applicable to all bills rendered after July 1, 1991. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held May 14, 1991. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
