AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF WATER STREET. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth, Virginia has made application to vacate and close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Water Street; and WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted November 13, 1990, viewers were appointed pursuan~ to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing a portion of Water Street; and WHEREAS, ~he said viewers have reported in in their opinion no inconvenience would result closing and discontinuing of said street. writing that from the NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the portion of said street hereinafter described be closed and vacated as a public street. Ail that portion of Water Street be§inning at a point in the northwest corner of Museum Parcel 61C as shown on that certain plat entitled "Plat Showing Survey of Development Parcels 6lA through 61H Crawford Renewal Project VA. R-53 Portsmouth, Virglnia~" dated August 13, 1985 and revised May 27, 1986, duly recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth in Map Book 13 at page 225; thence N 03° 32' 15" W, 291.24 feet; thenc~ N 86° 52~. 02" E, 25.25 feet to a point on a curve ha~ing a radius of 45,944.19 feet, thence along said curve to the left having a radius of 45,944.19 feet, an arc distance of 291.10 feet, thence S 86° 31' 45" W, 26.59 feet to the point of Beginning. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, reserves unso itself perpetual easements, rights and privileges to install, maintain, operate, and replace gas mains, under the portion of the hereinabove named street.
