amount of which shall be determined in the same manner as for <br />retirement at his normal retirement date with the years of <br />creditable service and average final compensation being <br />determined as of the date of his actual retirement. <br /> <br /> (g) In addition to the allowance payable under <br />subsections (a) through (d), a member shall receive an <br />additional allowance equal to monthly payments of one hundred <br />dollars ($100.00) from date of retirement until his <br />sixty-second birthday. This subsection shall not apply to <br />Sections 30-119, 30-121, 30-122, 30-124, 30-125, and 30-127 of <br />this code. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 30-121 (c) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 30-121. <br /> <br />Service-connected disability retirement <br />allowance. <br /> <br /> (c) The compensation finally awarded to the member under <br />the Virginia Worker's Compensation Act or which is adjusted <br />pursuant to that act shall be deducted from any allowance <br />becoming payable under the provisions of this section, and the <br />excess of the allowance, if any, shall be paid to the member. <br />When the time for payment of compensation under such act has <br />elapsed, the member shall thereafter receive the full amount <br />of such allowance payable at least monthly during his lifetime <br />and continued disability. <br /> <br /> 3. That Section 30-128 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended by amending subsection <br />(a)(1) and by enacting subsection (d) to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 30-128. Optional benefits. <br /> <br /> (a) Each member~who retires ,~'n~r any of the provisions <br />of this article shall have the right at any time, not <br />subsequent to the later of' the effective date of the member's <br />retirement or the date of the written notification to the <br />board of the retirement of the member, to elect to have his <br />retirement allowance payable under any one (1) of the <br />applicable opticns set forth in this section in lieu of~the <br />retirement allowance that would otherwise be payable to him. <br />The member shall make any such election by written request to <br />the board and such election shall be subject to the approval <br />of the board. <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Joint and last survivor option. The member shall be <br />provided a fifty percent (50%) spousal option at no <br />cost to the member calculated on a spousal age <br />difference of no younger than five (5) years of the <br />member. If the spouse is more than five (5) years <br />younger than the member, the member may elect to <br /> <br /> <br />
