1992-29 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTION 38-83, THEREOF, PERTAINING TO METER RATES FOR WATER SUPPLIED. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 38-83 of the Code of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and follows: the City of reordained as Section 38-83. Meter rates for water supplied. (a) For all water which passes through meters, consumers within the corporate limits of the City shall pay one dollar and eighty cents ($1.80) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or one dollar and thirty-four and sixty-six hundredths cents ($1.3466), per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. (b) For all water which passes through meters, the customers of the City of Chesapeake who are served by Portsmouth and whose rates are not set by contract shall pay two dollars and seventy cents ($2.70) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or two dollars and one and ninety-nine hundredths cents ($2.0199) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. (c) For all water which passes through the meters of the City of Chesapeake pursuant to contract, the City of Chesapeake shall pay two dollars and seventy cents ($2.70) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or two dollars and one and ninety-nine hundredths cents ($2.0199) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. ~ (d) For all water which passes through meters to the City of Suffolk pursuant to contract, the City of Suffolk shall pay one dollar and sixty-four and ninety-eight hundredths cents ($1.6498) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or one dollar and twenty-three and forty-two hundredths cents ($1.2342) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. 2. This ordinance shall take effect July 1, 1992 and shall be applicable to all bills rendered after July 1, 1992 Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held May 12, 1992.
