AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY REPEALING ARTICLE XXIV OF CHAPTER 2 <br />THEREOF, PERTAINING TO THE JAIL ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, AND BY ADDING SECTION 2-793 OF ARTICLE <br />XXVI OF CHAPTER 2 AS IT PERTAINS TO THE COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS <br />RESOURCES BOARD. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Article XXIV of Chapter 2 of the Code of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, pertaining to the Jail <br />Advisory Board be, and the same hereby is, repealed. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 2-793 of Article XXVI of Chapter 2 <br />the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be <br />ordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Section 2-793. Powers and duties. <br /> <br /> The Community Corrections Resources Board shall possess <br />the powers and duties granted to it by the Code of Virginia, <br />and, in addition, shall be designated as the body before which <br />grievances of inmates in the Portsmouth City Jail may be <br />brought and determined. <br /> <br /> 3.
