1992-65 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 7 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 7-33(b), 7-34(b), 7-35(b), 7-67, 7-68, 7-69(c) AND (d), 7-70, 7-133, 7-I34(b)(6) AND (7), 7-135(b) AND (e), 7-138 AND 7-139 THEREOF, AND BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 7-107, PERTAINING TO BUILDING AND BUILDING REGULATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 7-33(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as follows: Section 7-33. Division of electrical inspection. (b) The chief electrical inspector shall be certified as a master electrician or be exempt from certification, according to the standards established by the state department of housing and community development, and shall have at least two (2) years of experience as an electrical inspector. 2. That Section 7-34(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as follows: Section 7-34. Division of plumbing inspection. (b) The chief plumbing inspector shall be certified as a master plumber or be exempt from certification, according to the standards established by the state department of housing and community development, and shall have at least two (2) years of experience as a plumbing inspector. 3. That Section 7-35(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as follows: Section 7-35. Division of mechanical inspection. (b) The chief mechanical inspector shall be certified as master mechanical worker or be exempt from certification, according to the standards established by the state department of housing and community development, and shall have at least two (2) years of experience as a mechanical inspector. 4. That Section 7-67 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as follows: Section 7-67. General qualifications of applicant - Journeyman. Each applicant for a certificate under this division as a journeyman must demonstrate sufficient knowledge, ability and proficiency to meet the journeyman criteria set out in the standards established by the state department of housing and
