23 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION OF TIDEWATER CHILD <br />CARE ASSOCIATION, INC. FOR DESIGNATION AS A CHARITABLE AND <br />BENEVOLENT ORGANIZATION WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF SECTION 6 (a) <br />(6) OF ARTICLE X OF ~HE CONSTITUTION OF VIRGINIA. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with ~30-19.04 of the Code of <br />Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia held a Public Hearing on Tuesday, <br />February 11, 1992 to consider the application for exemption <br />from taxes filed on behalf of Tidewater Child Care <br />Association, Inc. for property located within the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, and used by the applicant exclusively <br />for charitable and benevolent purposes on a non-profit basis <br />as set forth in §58.1-3650, etc. of the Code of Virginia, <br />1950, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the. Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />has examined and considered the provisions of §30-19.04 (B) of <br />the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, with respect to the <br />petition of Tidewater Child Care Association, Inc. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE tT RESOLVED that the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia supports the request of <br />Tidewater Child Care Association, Inc., a non-profit <br />organization, for designation as a charitable and benevolent <br />organization within the context of ~6 (a) (6) of Article X of <br />the Constitution of Virginia and that its property located <br />within the City of Portsmouth, owned by it and used by it <br />exclusively for charitable and benevolent purposes on a <br />non-profit basis, be determined to be exempt from taxation in <br />accordance with ~58.1-3650, etc. of the Code of Virginia, <br />1950, as amended.~ ~ ~ ~ <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she <br />hereby is, directed to forward copies of this Resolution to <br />State Senators L. Louise Lucas and Frederick M. Quayle and <br />Delegates William S. Moore, Jr., and Kenneth R.
