AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING TABLE 40-43.1-2 <br />THEREOF, PERTAINING TO USE PERMIT REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN <br />SOCIAL SERVICES AND MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATIONS IN COMMERCIAL <br />ZONING DISTRICTS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Table 40-43.1-2 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended as it pertains to <br />Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Major Group Numbers <br />83 (Social Services) and 86 (Membership Organizations) by <br />amending SIC Industrial subclassifications 839 (Social <br />Services, not elsewhere classified), 8641 (Civic, Fraternal, <br />and Social Organizations), and 8661 (Religious Organizations), <br />and by adding thereto SIC Industrial subclassifications 8699 <br />(Miscellaneous Membership Organizations) to read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
