AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY BETWEEN BERTRAND <br />STREET AND ARDEN STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Marilee Hawkins, Director of Environmental <br />Services for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, has made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter <br />described portion of an alley between Bertrand Street and <br />Arden Street. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted March 23, <br />1993, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said alley and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said portion of an alley <br />between Bertrand Street and Arden Street. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said alley. <br /> <br />that <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of an alley between Bertrand Street and Arden Street <br />be closed and vacated as a public alley. <br /> <br />Ail that unnamed street, alley or right-of-way <br />located on tax plate 821 and bounded by Tyre Neck <br />Road on the east and Academy Street on the west and <br />lying between lots fronting on Bertrand Street on <br />the north, and Arden Street on the south. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meetinG held on September 14, 1993. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
