(d <br /> <br />Minimum Wage Adjusnmenns <br /> <br />If the smarming salary for any given position is below the <br />Federal mznzmum wage, employees an such s£arming salary will <br />receive a minimum wage pay supplement The purpose of this <br />supplement is no insure that every supplemented employee's <br />salary equals minimum wage. <br /> <br />The employee's mznzmum wage pay supplement will be adjusted <br />increased or decreased mn accordance with salary changes <br />under this secmzon of the Classification and Pay Plan. When a <br />minimum wage pay supplement ms no longer necessary to maintamn <br />the employee an a salary ra5e equal no the Federal mmnmmum wage <br />level, the supplement will be terminated. <br /> <br />Employees will be hired am the proper grade and snep in <br />accordance with the applicable sections of this Classification <br />and Pay Plan. Those employees whose salary includes a minzmum <br />wage supplement shall only receive an Ingrade Progression <br />increase if such step movemenn exceeds the currenn Federal <br />minimum wage. <br /> <br />(e) Administrative Salary Adjustmenns <br /> <br />The City Manager retains the authority to creane administra- <br />hive salary adjustmenns, and to make additional classifica- <br />tions and positions. The reasons for adjustments include, <br />but are non limited <br /> <br />1. Performance recognition, positive or negative; <br />2. Approval of departmental requesns for special salary <br /> actions, positive or negative; <br />3. Correction or verified errors in application of the <br /> Pay Plan. <br /> <br />(f) Absences by Exempt Employees Who Have No Accumulated Leave <br /> <br />To the exnenn required by the Fair Labor Standards Act and <br />the regulations promulgated pursuan~ no that Act, and <br />further no the exnenn authorized by state law, employees who <br />are exemp£ from the overtime provzslons of that Act may be <br />subqec5 Eo deductions from their compensation for periods of <br />absence from work of less than one day, if such employees <br />have no accumulated leave applicable 5o such absence or <br />choose to use leave without pay, or permissmon for leave has <br />non been sought or has been sought and denied. Additionally, <br />deductions from the pay of employees for absences due to a <br />budqet-required furlouqh shall non disqualify the employee <br />from beinq paid "on a salary basis" except in the workweek <br />zn which the furlouqh occurs and for which the employee's <br />pay is accordinqty reduced. The Direcnor of Personnel shall <br />develop and enforce such specific policies regarding the <br />taking of such absences by employees as may be necessary. <br /> <br /> <br />
