c. Part-time EmD loyment <br /> <br />A position is defined as part-time when the work schedule is <br />less than 40 hours per work week, and the funds for paymenn <br />are identified in the budgen as part-time. <br /> <br />The hours per work week for an individual employed as <br />part-time time are limited to 32 hours per work week. Any <br />additional hours must be approved in advance by the Director <br />of Personnel and are no be the exception, non the rule. <br />Part-time employees are non eligible for benefits. <br /> <br />The salary of part-time employees shall be determined by <br />reference no the salary grade ~o which the employee's <br />position classification is assigned. The part-time employee's <br />salary shall be such proportionate part of the full-time <br />annual salary as reflects the hours worked by the part-time <br />employee, an the minimum range. Part-time employees shall <br />receive salary increases only when the minimum range for the <br />established grade increases. <br /> <br />d. Creation of Job/Position Descriptions <br /> <br />Prior to the establishment o~ a new position, the Department <br />Head involved shall complete a job description questionnaire <br />covering the duties, responsibilities, and mlnlmum qualifica- <br />tions for the proposed position. The Department of Personnel <br />shall assign the position to one of the job titles in the <br />Position Classification Plan. If a suitable job description <br />does non exist, the Director of Personnel shall develop @ new <br />job description and title for consideration by the City <br />Manager. <br /> <br />e. Official Copy of the Position Classification Plan <br /> <br />The Director of Personnel shall be responsible for maintain- <br />lng an official copy of the Position Classification Plan. <br />The official copy shall include the Alphabetical Listing of <br />Job Titles, the job descriptions, plus all amendments <br />thereto. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. COMPENSATION PLAN <br /> <br />The Compensation Plan shall consist of the Salary Schedule, <br />Salary Increases by Grade, the Alphabetical Listing of Job Titles <br />with assigned grades, and the following policies that govern the <br />administration of the Compensation Plan. The City Manager may <br />authorize variations in the application of this section and may <br />make adjustments and modifications as needed. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
