Ai~ ORDINkNCE TO AI~END CHAPTER 7 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTIONS 7-101, 7-104, <br />7-105, 7-131[a) AND (b), 7-132(a), 7-134, 7-135, 7-137, 7-138 <br />AND 7-142, BY ADDING SECTION 7-143 THEREOF, ~ BY REPEALING <br />SECTIONS 7-36 AND 7-61 THROUGH 7-73 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO <br />BUILDING INSPECTION FEES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Sections 7-101, <br />7-132(a), 7-134, 7-135, 7-137, <br />the City of Portsmouth (1988) <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> 7-104, 7-105, 7-131(a) and (b), <br />7-138 and 7-142 of the Code of <br />be amended and reordained to read <br /> <br />Sec. 7-101. Inspections of work. <br /> <br /> The inspections required under the provisions of the <br />building code shall be performed by an inspec5or from the <br />appropriate division of the departmenm of building inspections, <br />upon notification from the permit holder or such holder's <br />agent. Such inspector shall either approve that portion of the <br />work as completed or shall notify the permit holder or his <br />agent where such work fails to comply with the building code or <br />departmental regulation. Additional inspections may be <br />required by the inspector where, in the inspector's judgment, <br />such inspections are necessary because of the scope or <br />complexity of the work co be installed or performed. Each <br />reinspection shall require a fee of thirty-five dollars <br />($35.00) ~o be paid prior ~o the reinspection. <br /> <br />Sec. 7-104. Fees for review of construction <br /> plans. <br /> <br /> In addition co the permit fees prescribed in this article, <br />there shall be a fee for the review of construction plans for <br />all matters for which permits are mandated by the building code <br />including, but not limited to, building permits, electrical <br />permits, plumbing permits and mechanical permits, in accord <br />with the fee schedule as follows: <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />New construction and additions co one-and two-family <br />buildings: <br /> <br />(a) Under two thousand (2~000) square <br /> feet .............................. $ 15.00 <br /> <br />(b) Over mwo thousand (2,000) square <br /> feet .............................. 25.00 <br /> <br /> <br />
