AN OP, DINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTION 22-329 THEREOF, <br />AND BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION 22-508 THERETO, PERTAINING TO <br />TRUCK TRAFFIC AND A ONE-WAY STREET. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 22-329 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained by adding <br />the following: <br /> <br />City Park Avenue between Portsmouth Boulevard and Airline <br />Boulevard; <br /> <br />Chautauqua Avenue between Detroit Street and Commerce <br />Street; <br /> <br />Prentis Avenue between Gilmerton Avenue and Race Street; <br /> <br />Maple Avenue between Gilmerton Avenue to Duke Street; <br /> <br />LaSalle Avenue between Gilmerton Avenue and Duke Street. <br /> <br />Evergreen Place between Portsmouth Boulevard and <br />Deep Creek Boulevard. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 22-329 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained by <br />repealing the following provision thereof: <br /> <br /> Chautauqua Avenue between Wesley Street an Commerce <br />Street. <br /> <br /> 3. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />(1988) be amended by enacting a new section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 22-508 Gilmerton Avenue between Elm Avenue and Lincoln <br /> Street. <br /> <br /> (a) Gilmerton Avenue, between Elm Avenue and Lincoln <br />Street, is hereby designated a one-way street. <br /> <br /> (b) It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a <br />vehicle southwesterly on Gilmerton Avenue between Lincoln <br />Street and Elm Avenue. <br /> <br /> 3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of <br />its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
