AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FEES FOR ADMISSION TO MUSEUMS <br />OPERATED BY THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the admission fee to the Children's Museum of <br />Virginia shall be four dollars ($4.00) per person per day <br />beginning January 1, 1996. Payment of such fee shall entitle <br />each person to be admitted to the Children's Museum of Virginia <br />during normal operating hours on said day. <br /> <br /> 2. That active members of the Portsmouth Museums and <br />Friends of the Naval Shipyard Museum shall, upon providing <br />proof of membership, be entitled to unlimited admissions for <br />each current member to the Children's Museum of Virginia and to <br />all other museums operated by the City of Portsmouth. <br />Corporate membership admissions shall be governed by the <br />Director of Museums. <br /> <br /> 3. That Portsmouth Public Schools student groups, with a <br />reservation and with supervising adults, shall be admitted <br />without charge. For each group of eight (8) children, one <br />adult supervisor shall be admitted free of charge. <br /> <br /> That all other school student groups, with a reservation <br />and with supervising adults, shall be charged the regular <br />admission fee of four dollars ($4.00). For each group of eight <br />(8) children, one adult supervisor shall be admitted free of <br />charge. <br /> <br /> 4. That admission fees to all museums except the <br />Children's Museum of Virginia, operated by the City of <br />Portsmouth shall be one dollar ($1.00) per museum for each <br />person per day. <br /> <br /> 5. That there hereby is established a discount program <br />to be known as a "Keypass". Upon payment of a fee of five <br />dollars ($5.00), each person shall be entitled to admittance to <br />any and all museums operated by the City of Portsmouth, during <br />normal working hours during the same calendar day. <br /> <br /> 6. That the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to <br />establish such waivers of admission fees as he may deem <br />appropriate, provided that such waivers are specified in <br />writing. <br /> <br /> 7. That the fees hereby established shall not be <br />applicable to exhibitions which, by contractual agreement, <br />preclude fees being charged for admission. <br /> <br /> <br />
